Bassmaster Weekend Series 06/28/09

Jim McKie takes win at stop #2 – Mississippi River – Alma, WI

Conditions:
Air Temp: 78 degrees
Water Temp: 75 degrees
Clarity: varied, but overall clear
Skies: Sunny

Steady weather coming into this event, anglers were looking to improve on weights from the first event.  78 anglers and co-anglers were set to fish this event.

Jim McKie of Alma, WI took first place with a total weight of 16.26 lbs, anchored by the big bass of the day at 4.22lbs. On stage he was very tight lipped not wanting to share any info. When asked by tournament director if he was flipping or cranking or what? He said Cranking with a big grin on his face; you can read into that what you would like.

2nd place was held down by Michael Feldermann of Galena, IL.  Michael was just barely edged out of first place, as he had 16.00lbs.  Michael agreed to interview but was rushed away to confirm details of his Triton Gold incentives and the winds started gusting and everyone dispersed to get their boats of the beach.

Randy Burch took 3rd place with a mixture of green and brown fish for 15.25lbs, targeting sand bars with Swim Jigs.

Bonus Video with Brian Fitzpatrick who took 4th place on Frogs

Co-Angler winner was Richard Conrad, he said that it was a “Real Grind”, working hard all day flipping grass with creature baits to amass his 3 fish limit of 11.14lbs.  See video interview below
