Paul Strege of Deerfield , Wisconsin has already established himself atop the amateur leader board of regional and national tournaments, and continues to build upon that success in developing the skills and experience essential to realizing his dream of becoming a professional fisherman.

Fishing has played an important role throughout Paulís life. Whether it was the Saturday mornings spent with his father on local lakes, shore fishing after high school classes were dismissed, or hours drifting the Upper St . Croix River , he has developed an enthusiasm for the outdoors that others can relate to. On one hot summer day over 15 years ago in fact, Paul first met his wife Kellie at a youth fishing tournament. Although Kellie does not particularly enjoy being compared to a scaled species, Paul claims that he recorded his greatest tournament catch on that day. Coincidentally, Kellie won the tournament. They are now proud parents of whom they believe is going to be the next bass fishing superstar, their son Matthew.

Paul has enjoyed success in B.A.S.S. Federation and Top 150 events, EverStart, and various regional tournament circuits. In just two B.A.S.S. Top 150 events in two separate years, he came close to winning both times.

In 2002, he won the Northern Division EverStart event on the Mississippi River en route to posting a runner-up finish in the non-boater season point standings. In more recent years, Paul has competed in the WalMart Bass Fishing League as a boater. He will be competing again as a boater in the ESPN / B.A.S.S. Weekend Series Badger Division this year in hopes of qualifying for the regional event in late October.

Strege equally enjoys sharing his passion of fishing with others off-the-water. His experience includes speaking at club seminars, promoting sponsorsí products, authoring articles for bass fishing websites, and assisting youth at fishing events. In addition, he has completed college level technical writing classes and received training in presentation design and delivery.

Paul looks forward to each and every day he spends or shares with others while fishing. Although he says that preparing himself for a professional career will take some patience and a considerable amount of effort to make it a success, he has the motivation and perseverance to achieve his goal.
